Although this time of year is traditionally a lean time for some of you I have noticed that adherence to the opening hours have again started to slip. Market trading times are 8am to 2pm Jan-March and 8am to 3pm thereafter and are advertised to the public as such. I have received complaints from members of the public that there is little open at the beginning and end of these sessions, this does not encourage new or returning customers, makes a mockery of the advertising already paid for and therefore benefits none of us. |
We are experiencing serious problems with pigeons in the market. These birds constitute a serious health risk in the market. I have consulted various authorities including the RSPB regarding possible solutions however it is agreed that the main cause of this problem is the availability of food. I must therefore insist that no-one in the market feeds these birds. By doing so you will increase the problem to a point where the birds will have to be culled. As rubbish will also attract these birds stall-holders are reminded that they must leave their stalls clean and free from rubbish at the end of trading. Failure to follow these instructions will effectively ensure the deaths of these creatures. |

I will be off on the 8th & 11th of March and therefore would appreciate all rents being paid promptly on the 4th March. |
