Bideford’s inaugural Heritage Day, on Saturday 17th July, was a great success with over 2,000 visitors enjoying the spectacular entertainment and informed hands-on education provided by all who participated. A big thank you goes out to the Jousting team ‘Combat through the Ages’, the fighting men of the ‘Medieval Combat Alliance’. the demonstrators of everyday life ‘the Medieval Free Company’, the ‘North Devon Movie Bus’ which showed the film ‘A Tale of Two Rivers’, the ‘Welcome Spinners’, ‘Bideford Heritage Railway Museum’ and the ‘Appledore Maritime Museum’. All of the people working, or giving their time freely, for these organisations helped Bideford 500 in making this day such a memorable success. |
This project is part-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for European Development 2007-2013:
also Torridge District Council, Bideford Town Council, Bideford Bridge Trust and Devon County Council.
